Laki visenamenski ( skolsko -sportski ) helikopter( izdelie 300) , NATO naziva `Hermit` nastao je po zahtevima DOSAAF /Добровольное общество содействия армии, авиации и флоту (ДОСААФ)/ kao zamena za Mi-1 i Mi-2.

U sastavu sovjetskog DOSAAF



Inace siroko poznat po svojim izuzetnim letnim i manevarskim sposobnostima( izvodi `valjak` i `petlju` bez problema ) imao je prvi let jos 17.nov 1986g. Vec sledece godine biva prvi put i javno prikazan na Le Burzeu ( Pariz ) .

Do sada je proizvedeno oko 30 komada ( 2 izgubljena u udesima ) a jedan od najvecih kupaca je bila Nigerija .

Первый полёт опытный Ми-34 01-черный совершил 17 ноября 1986 года.

Серийное производство началось на ААК Прогресс (г. Арсеньев) в 1993 году, приостановлено в 2002 году.

The Mi-34S2 will have to compete with models like Eurocopter's EC120. First deliveries are planned for 2016, but Russian Helicopters has stated that it will only start production when it has received enough orders. The Sapsan can be ordered with Russian or Western avionics.

Ova masina sto je u OS BIH je nabavljena jos za vrijeme rata i nije nesto puno ni naletjela.

Prica se da je taj helikopter prvo bio ponuđen HRZ-u ali je nicim izazvan ispustio ulje u hangaru i cijeli pod hangara "u$#ao". Nasi su ga pokušali osposobiti ali je stalno imao nekakve kvarove. Pokrpili su ga tek toliko da moze odletiti u Bosnu i njima ga ponudili. Oni su ga naravno uzeli...
