Following a competition, the Belgian CMI Defence CT-CV two-person turret was selected as this has been fully developed and tested on a wide range of platforms, tracked and wheeled.
This turret is armed with a 105 mm rifled tank gun fitted with a thermal sleeve, fume extractor, muzzle brake and muzzle reference system, which enables the gunner to bore sight the 105 mm gun without leaving the vehicle. Mounted coaxial with the 105 mm gun is a 7.62 mm machine gun (MG).
The 105 mm gun is fed by a bustle-mounted automatic loader and can fire standard ammunition, including armour-piercing fin-stabilised discarding sabot (APFSDS), high explosive (HE), high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT), and high-explosive squash head (HESH), with the latter being highly effective when used in the bunker busting role.
Citat:The Turkish company FNSS and the Indonesian state-owned defence company PT Pindad are developing a light tank for the Indonesian Army's Modern Medium Weight Tank (MMWT) project. The winner of the Indonesian program is expected to deliver an inital order of 50 vehicle, on the long run order could be increased to 400 vehicles. FNSS is owned by 49% by the British defence company BAE Systems.
The MMWT is based on the FNSS-designed Kaplan infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) chassis, which seems to be the first proper own design; previously the company relied on licence-producing and modifying existing vehicles such as the M113 and the GPV Colonel (known as PARS in Turkey). The hull for the MMWT has however been redesigned - while the Kaplan has it's engine mounted in the front of the vehicle and the rear of the vehicle is used for a dismount compartment fitted with a rear ramp, the MMWT has a rear-mounted engine.

На проходящей с 9 по 13 мая 2017 года в Стамбуле (Турция) 13-й международной выставке оборонной промышленности International Defence Industry Fair 2017 (IDEF-2017), турецкая компания FNSS Savunma Sistemleri (совместное предприятие турецкого холдинга Nurol и корпорации BAE Systems) продемонстрировала первый прототип своей постройки "среднего танка" Kaplan MT (Medium Tank), в классе боевого веса 35 тонн, создаваемого по программе Modern Medium Weight Tank (MMWT) совместно с,индонезийским государственным оборонно-промышленным объединением PT Pindad в соответствии с подписанным обеими компаниями соглашением в 2014 году. Главным заказчиком танка должны выступить вооруженные силы Индонезии.

Ih kad bi napravili učinkovit aktivni sistem odbrane i za pancirne projektile ne bi trebao ni tenk, nego na vakvo vozilo staviš tenkovski top, i imaš učinkovito borbeno oklopno vozilo za cca 4 mil. dolara po komadu, sa puno jeftinijom logistikom.
