A senior Iranian commander says the country identified and repelled an American U2 reconnaissance plane that was trying to intrude into Iranian airspace above the Sea of Oman.
Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said on Tuesday that the country’s air defense systems identified the radar-evading plane on February 10 but it left the area after receiving a warning from Iran’s air-defense units.
“The US U2 plane was flying from Pakistan’s southwest to the east of the Sea of Oman and was being monitored by our radar and electronic surveillance systems every moment,” the Iranian commander said, adding that Iran’s Persian Gulf radar gave it a warning when it was trying to enter Iran’s airspace above the Sea of Oman and southeast of the Strait of Hormuz.
The plane, which is one of the world’s most technologically-advanced reconnaissance aircraft, probably intended to take images of and gather information about Iran’s southern region, he added.
Earlier in November, Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said the Iranian military had driven away an unidentified aircraft violating the country’s airspace above Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.
The Islamic Republic of Iran vigilantly and precisely monitors all the movements [of its enemies] and takes decisive, necessary and timely actions, Vahidi said.
On December 4, 2012, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy commander, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, said his forces had captured a US ScanEagle drone over the waters of the Persian Gulf after it violated Iranian airspace.
In December 2011, the Iranian military grounded a US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft while it was flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 225 kilometers (140 miles) from the Afghan border.
The US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft was brought down with minimal damage by the Iranian Army's electronic warfare unit. The aircraft is one of the United States' most advanced spy drones.

U-2 je sada jedna druga zvijer i teško ćeš o njegovoj opremi naći više podataka. Top-secret! U ono doba je bio izviđački avion koji je letio na velikoj visini, imao ogroman radius, nosio moćnu kameru i bio nedostižan za sovjetske lovce. Ali ne i za raketu PVO.
Ali ću ti ja reći kao se ponaša i kako izviđa. Samo da popijem kahvu i oduvam koji gusti dim žutog Prilepskog duhana.

Radi vam sa najboljim sintetičkim radarom koji postoji na svetu. Prvenstveni cilj su vaše postrojebe ispred ulaza u Ormuz u onom delu gde provlađuje ravničarski deo. Rezolucija mu je strašno dobra i ima dosta dobar algoritam da procenjuje od koje tvari je odraz.
Vrlo verovatnoga para ili zveno F-15 ga štiti na 15 000 levo i 15 000 desno a on je negde u pravcu Sunca na 20 -22 000m. Ne prilazi dovoljno blizu da bi lako reagovali, uređajii mu snimaju i do 100 milja ima dosta dobru rezoluciju, može da skine da je nešto lanser HAWKA n azemlji, pa čak i Rapire.
Pravu opremu pokrivajte drvenim daskama a dalje od te opreme radite daske i priručni materijal pa oblažite nekom folijom da bolje odbija zrake a preko ipak stavite neku retku maskirnu mrežu, dobru mrežu stavite preko prave opreme.
Najbolje je da uredite neuredno prave borbene položaje kao da su odavno napušteni a u stvari prekrijete rovove tablama dasaka i jednom dve lopate peska i zemlje da devastirate oblik položaja lansirnih mesta a opremu držite što bliže ali u nekoj prirodnoj jarugi ili zadnjem nagibu u radarskoj senci.

Lažni napad će biti gomilom krstrećih po samom Teheranu i Tabrizu, neke taktičke će po glavnoj luci Bandaru a ONDA če tek u sred toga probati da unište Bašer i centrifuge prodorom u niskom letu sa strašnim ometanjem, da izbace Tora i slinčne iz upotrebe.

Bar niko ovdje na ovome forumu ne sumnja u ISAR mogućnosti crne Dragon Lady kao i SIGINT sposobnosti nje i njenih kolega ali i dalje ostaje problem odakle če poletjeti avijacija bilo IDF/AF, USAF ili USN koja treba da uništi baze u centralnom Iranu u kojem su smješteni glavni centri za nuklearna istraživanja.
Same krstareće rakete če teško obaviti taj zadatak.

Iran has launched a new indigenous destroyer called Damavand in line with the Islamic Republic's efforts to boast its naval supremacy.
Head of the Iranian Navy's Industrial Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization Admiral Ali Gholamzadeh said on Friday that Damavand destroyer is a Mowj-class vessel.
The admiral said tests would begin on Damavand immediately after the destroyer’s launch.
Gholamzadeh stated that over the next few months the destroyer would be prepared to be assigned to international missions in free waters.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Iran's Navy launched the indigenous Sahand destroyer in the southern port of Bandar Abbas on September 8, 2012, alongside the overhauled super-heavy Tareq 901 submarine.
The Iranian Navy launched its first indigenously-built destroyer, Jamaran, in the waters of the Persian Gulf in February 2010.
Tehran has repeatedly assured other countries that its military might poses no threat to other states, insisting that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.

Iran has overhauled and modernized its warplanes, including the "sophisticated" F-14 Tomcat fighter jets, an Iranian military official said on Tuesday.
Air Force Deputy Commander General Aziz Nasirzadeh said in an interview with the FNA news agency that indigenous radars and new engines were installed on F-14 Tomcat jets, developed in the 1970s.
He said that although most airplanes had "old designs," all of their components, "including systems and parts, are being optimized and upgraded on a regular basis."
He also said Iranian bombers were armed with "indigenous 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) smart bombs," Qassed (Messenger).
Iran's Air Force announced in September that it had successfully test-fired Qassed 1 and 2 bombs in aerial drills over the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The Iranian fleet of Grumman F-14 Tomcat aircraft was bought from the United States during the reign of the last shah. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has been under a U.S. arms embargo.
The United States announced in January 2007 that sales of spare parts for F-14s would be suspended due to concerns that they could end up in Iran.
