Under the contract, KNDS will deliver 126 newly manufactured 20mm THL20 turrets for integration with new Prachand helicopters, ordered by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army's Aviation Corps (AAC).
This contract builds on a long-standing partnership between KNDS and the IAF started in 2006, which includes the supply of 136 THL20 turrets for the service's Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH).
THL20 turret is built around the 20M621 gun, and uses the standard NATO 20x102mm ammunition. It is derived from the THL30, currently in service on Tiger attack helicopters. The THL20 system is already qualified on Romanian IAR 330 helicopter and is integrated on UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.
