The carrier, formerly the Italian Navy's Giuseppe Garibaldi, traveled for 25 days covering approximately 6,870 nautical miles, crossing the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean before arriving in Indonesia earlier this month.

During the ceremony, the Italian flag on the vessel was replaced with the Indonesian flag and the carrier was officially renamed as KRI Sriwijaya-100 as part of its official transfer to the Indonesian Navy. The aircraft carrier is named after the empire of Srivijaya.

The vessel was originally built by Fincantieri at its Monfalcone shipyard and delivered to the Italian Navy as ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1985. She served in the Italian Navy for 39 years before being retired in 2024. Indonesia acquired the carrier from Italy this year through an intergovernmental grant arrangement, and has become the second Southeast Asian country to operate an aircraft carrier, after Thailand.

^ Fali jo� Aselsanova turela Milas integrisana u opstoje�i sistem. Najmanje bi smetalo da se zavari nosilna plo�a - produ�etak balkona, sa dva okrenuta trokutna nosa�a sa strane. Iznad zadnjih vodotesnih vrata u nadgradnju - gore na slici je pored tih vrata crvena vatrogasna kutija. Jednostavno bi bilo opslu�ivanje raketama iz balkona i blizu za strujni i informacijski vod. A mogla bi ina nadgradnju na levoj strani iznad krme, ba� ima prazan i neometan prostor. Time bi bili pokriveni svi slojevi samoodbrane pa i sama observacija sa optikom sektora u smeri �ire od krme. I nisu to neke pare jer ve� postoji Aselsanov (fire control) i Hensholdov C2i. Negde izme�u 1,5 i 1,8 mil. �. Ovako kako jest napad iz pravca krme je potpuno neza�ti�en, osim sa mitraljezima - izvan dosega topa.

Meni jedan od najlepsih ratnih brodova ikad napravljenih. Taj radar gore sam uvek smatrao za glavnu odbranu ne samo broda nego svakog u bar 200km krugu dokle PVO moze solidno da dohvati. Medjutim danas ga gledam iz ugla malog drona koji on ne vidi, a koji je nekim cudom dosao dovoljno blizu.

USS Zumwalt is scheduled to officially return to service in September this year. The modernization program began in 2023 and is currently about 10 months behind schedule.

The ship is expected to conduct the first test launch of the baseline Intermediate-Range CPS (IR CPS)hypersonic missile system by June 2027. An enhanced version of the IR CPS, featuring anti-ship capability, is planned for testing before September 2030.
