Citat:U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a $562 million contract for the low-rate initial production (LRIP) of three MQ-25A Stingray uncrewed aerial refueling aircraft.
The award for three aircraft brings the total to 14 aircraft under contract and is one more step toward bringing the U.S. Navy’s first operational carrier-based uncrewed aircraft onto its aircraft carriers. The three new aircraft will make up Lot 1 of LRIP, with Lot 2 planned to be awarded in 2027.

The initial deliveries from Lot 1 are expected to begin in 2029.

Citat:U.S. Navy has doubled its fleet capacity to operate the MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aircraft system (UAS) over a five-month period, standing up a second operational MD-5C Ground Control Station (GCS).
MD-5C, powered by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works MDCX autonomy platform, is installed in the Unmanned Air Warfare Center (UAWC), the dedicated shipboard command center for unmanned carrier aviation. The Navy's Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) received the first operational MD-5C in March 2026, followed by her sister ship USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in August 2026.
The MD-5C is a highly complex system-of-systems, which includes the government Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) network, MDCX software and hardware, and additional government-produced ancillary equipment. Within the GCS, MDCX is the mission planning and execution software that enables Navy operators to command and control the MQ-25A Stingray, extending carrier air wing reach and freeing manned aircraft for higher-priority missions.
