Ne postoji "civilni" vodič pasa u vojsci - dakle, da bi bila vojni vodič, podrazumeva se da si VPU sa završenim kursom za kerovođu.

Who slaughtered 24 bomb sniffing K-9s in Kuwait and why? Shocked Mad

Social media had gone viral with reports and graphic photos of 24 bomb sniffing K-9s attached to a U.S. owned security contracting company based in Kuwaiit being slaughtered.

Kuwait Animal Rescue Unit, an animal rights group in Kuwait which put the news with graphics on social media, warned that 100 more K-9s in the company’s control are at risk.

“There was an extremely sad and horrifying animal abuse/massacre incident at a security company based in Kuwait on June 17, 2016 in Kuwait. Due to their contract being revoked, they slaughtered 24 of their US K9 dogs whom were trained by USK9 dog training facility which is located in Louisiana. National Petroleum Company (KNPC). KNPC paid 3000KD (equivalent of $9900)/month to the security company for each dog. Early this morning, a brave lawyer Eshmael Al Misri, representing the workers from Nepal at the security company and an avid animal lover, advocate, and rescuer, Mimi Maamoun, went to file a complaint at Mina Abdullha police station against the security company. The environment police and municipality registered the case. There are another 91 dogs remaining at the security company. While they abused the dogs by having them on duty for 24 hours without rest, their foreign workers would not dare to speak up and raise any issues with the company as they were also being mistreated and abused. At this point, we as animal lovers in kuwait, USA, and other countries, we need to advocate all the animals by spreading the news and be the voice for these poor animals. We must help save the remaining animals! The Instagram notice read.

Kuwaiti authorities most likely underestimated the respect and affection U.S. Troops and handlers have for the K-9s which become part of the team. So did the company.

After the social media outrage, Comoany authorities claimed that the dogs were euthanized as a humanitarian gesture as they were sick.”These dogs were suffering in the condition they were in,” an anonymous employee told the Arab Times. “In my opinion, this should have been done a year ago, ” miamiherald.com reported.
The company issued the following statement.

KNPC clarifies reports on execution of sniffer dogs

The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) issued a statement yesterday denying any link with the reported ‘execution’ of sniffer dogs that were supposed to be used by the company according to deal with a local contractor. KNPC official spokesman Khaled Al-Asousi expressed regret in a statement to KUNA that the contractor put the animals to death.

His action has nothing to do with the company for the contract with him has been repealed due to the latter’s failure to meet certain security standards, as stipulated by the contract, read the statement. The signed contract stipulates that a third party will examine the dogs’ ability to uncover explosives at oil installations. The third party has tested the dogs after concealing explosives in some vehicles. But the dogs have failed to detect the explosives, prompting the company to end the contract.

Last week, reports on social media suggested that at least 24 dogs had been euthanatized due to the cancellation of a contract and unpaid salaries. Unconfirmed sources said that the animals were sick and had been put to death for humane reasons. But local animal rescuer and activist, Mimi Mamoun has disputed this account. “The dogs were not sick, only two, three I heard; in fact my Filipino friend who handles the dogs told me that the dogs were healthy and only a few of them were old but they killed them to punished the handlers who has filed complaints at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (shoun) for nonpayment of salaries,” she said.

Another source who spoke to Kuwait Times on condition of anonymity, said the killings were probably connected to the brewing pressure from the KNPC since they were informed that they have not complied with the provisions signed between the KNPC and the contracting company. A local lawyer has filed a criminal complaint asking for an investigation into the deaths of the animals and oversight for the remaining 90 dogs still in the company’s care.
