Trenutno se spominju F-16V i Gripen, videcemo ko ce jos doci u izbor
Citat:The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has budgeted PHP61 billion (USD1.1 billion) to procure a multirole combat aircraft over the next five years, a senior PAF official told Jane's at the Asian Defence and Security (ADAS) 2018 exhibition in Manila.
He said the procurement - the Multi-Role Fighter (MRF) programme, which will feature the acquisition of 12 aircraft in its initial phase - is one of several requirements for the PAF as it enters its 'second horizon' modernisation phase, which runs from 2018 to 2022. Total funding for PAF modernisation under the second horizon is PHP139 billion
Citat:Saab is positioning its Gripen to meet the Philippines’ Multi-Role Fighter requirement.
Citat:According to MaxDefense Philippines, Lockheed Martin is present mainly for the marketing of F-16V Block 70/72 Viper fighter aircraft to the Philippine Air Force (PAF).
“The F-16V Viper was said to be among those offered by the US government to Pres. Duterte to fulfill the Philippine Air Force’s requirement for at least 12 Multi-Role Fighters as part of the Horizon 2 phase of the [Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program],” MaxDefense said.

US Renews Offer to Sell F-16 Jets to Philippines
Citat:The US government reiterated its offer to supply the Philippines with the Lockheed Martin F-16.
The offer took place during Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana's visit to Washington D.C. last September where he met with US Secretary James Mattis.
"Yes, he offered to sell the (F-16)," Lorenzana said in a message to reporters Tuesday.
The DND chief, however, said these fighters are too expensive for the Philippines along with the attack helicopters which are also being offered by the US.
Citat:After a thorough study and research, the Department of National Defense (DND) is most likely to buy the Swedish-made Gripenmulti-role supersonic jet fighter for the Philippine Air Force (PAF).
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on the sidelines of the book launching of former President Fidel V. Ramos at the Manila Hotel on Sunday.
Lorenzana said aside from being cheaper and less expensive in maintenance cost, the Gripen has been proven to be an excellent supersonic fighter aircraft with a top speed of Mach 2 or 1,236 kilometers per hour, or twice the speed of sound.
