On this day: 52 years ago, company test pilot Alexander V. Fedotov, made the maiden flight of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 “Flogger” (June 10, 1967). The first true “swing-wing” and “swing-role” fighter to enter Soviet service, the Flogger went on to become one of the most produced and successful aircraft of the Cold War.
