Citat:Pyongyang Announces a Twofold Increase in Nuclear Material Production
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a newly commissioned nuclear materials production facility on June 3.
During the inspection, he stated that over the five years of implementing the country's nuclear force development program, Pyongyang has more than doubled its capacity to produce weapons-grade nuclear materials compared to previous levels.
According to Kim Jong Un, these achievements are the result of the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of consistently strengthening the nation's nuclear capabilities, as well as the efforts of the country's scientific and technical sector.
Particular attention has been drawn to Pyongyang's future plans. Under a new five-year nuclear force development program approved at the party's Ninth Congress, the North Korean leadership intends not only to expand the nuclear industry's production capacity but also to continue increasing its nuclear weapons arsenal.
