Yesterday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – backed by the People’s Protection Units (YPG) – captured 8 villages from ISIS in the far eastern fringes of Aleppo province.
Among the villages liberated were Abu Safa’ih, Bi’r al-A’ma, Al-Haymah, Karawidani, Udanli Jubb with several others contested.

Today’s government operation was carried out by joint special forces of the SAA’s Republican Guard, Hezbollah and the SAA’s Airforce Intelligence Units. According to a military source in Damascus, the SAA has spent the last few days securing the farms south of Beit Na’em and Muhammadiyeh – this will allow more government troops to cross the Barada River and strike deep inside rebel areas of East Ghouta.

The Syrian Arab Army’s Special Forces raised the Syrian Arab Republic’s flag over the municipal building inside the rebel stronghold of Mu’adhimiyah Al-Sham on Sunday after a agreement was put in place by local committees to give the government control of the city.
