Patria and Valmet expand their cooperation in the production of armoured vehicles
Citat:Patria and Valmet Automotive have today signed a new multi-year agreement to manufacture Patria’s armoured 6x6 vehicles in Uusikaupunki, Finland.
Expanding on the companies’ previous collaboration, this agreement increases annual production capacity to hundreds of vehicles, offering tremendous scalability. While Patria's own production and investments in Hämeenlinna and Valmiera continue, this step delivers rapid, high-standard extra capacity that will be at full power in early 2027.

Citat:German Armed Forces' (Bundeswehr) new Patria 6x6 wheeled armored vehicle is undergoing extensive testing program at the Technical Centre for Land-Based Vehicle Systems (WTD 41) in Trier, Germany.
The intensive trials are being conducted to ensure that the new vehicle meets the high demands of operational use and offers soldiers the greatest possible protection. WTD 41 is part of the German defence procurement agency, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw).
The 24-ton vehicle will replace the Bundeswehr's Fuchs armored personnel carrier (APC). It can be equipped with different equipment packages allowing flexible adaptation to various operational scenarios, such as for engineers, army reconnaissance troops, or as a fire control vehicle.
Germany is procuring Patria 6x6 vehicles through the Finnish Defence Forces-led Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, and currently has 349 Patria vehicles on firm order in four different configurations, including those equipped with the Patria NEMO turreted mortar system and Kongsberg RS4 remote control weapon system.
A four-figure number of Patria 6x6 vehicles in various configurations is expected to be procured in the medium term, thus expanding the Bundeswehr's fleet. The service is expected to receive its first vehicles in early 2027.
