Citat:Palace of Justice siege - On November 6, 1985, the M-19 guerrillas occupied the Palace of Justice of Colombia, in the center of the capital, taking hostage dozens of judges, including 23 of the Supreme Court, and lawyers. Required the presence of President Betancur the palace to be tried for “crimes against the Colombian people.” They demanded also the government, disclosure of the minutes of verification of signed peace agreement with the guerrillas and the revelation of the contents of the last agreement with the IMF. Determined to crush the guerrillas at any cost, the military made it clear from the outset that this time there would be no negotiation and would not hesitate to knock Betancur if he did not agree. On day 7, the Colombian army stormed the Palace of Justice, triggering a battle of 27 hours, where they were used to tanks. All the 35 M-19 guerrillas died. Just like other 65 hostages, among them the 23 judges and 45 government soldiers.
