Razmišlja se o stvaranju nove akrobatske grupe u Rusiji nazvane "9.maj" a biče bazirana na avionu Yak-130. To je prouzrokovalo glasine o tome da se razmišlja o ukidanju ostalih dveh akro grupa:

Russia’s defense ministry has termed the report of a number of the media about supposedly planning the break up of the Russian Federation air force Swifts and Russian Knights aerobatic teams as baseless rumors.

“There are no controlling documents at this time. We are not commenting on the rumors,” an official representative of the defense ministry’s directorate for the press service and information for the air force, Colonel Vladimir Drik, declared to ITAR-TASS today.

As some media maintain, a decision is being prepared at military headquarters about breaking up the Swifts and Russian Knights aerobatic groups. According to this version, for purposes of saving money a supposedly new team will replace these two that will appear in Yak-130 trainers. It also is maintained that the Swifts and Knights will appear at the August MAKS air salon for the last time.

The celebrated Russian Knights aerobatic air team was created on 5 April 1991 at the base of the 237th guards Proskurov Red Banner Order of Kutozov and Aleksandr Nevskiy air regiment from the best airmen of the Kubinka air base outside Moscow and other Russian garrisons. It is included in the Kozhedub Center for Demonstration of Aviation Equipment. Pilots of the team carry out solo and team aerobatics composed of four, five and six fourth generation Su-27 fighters. The airplanes are painted in the colors of Russia’s state flag.

The debut of the Swifts took place in May 1991 at the airfield of the 237th center for the demonstration of aircraft equipment, where crews for the first time demonstrated mastery in team piloting in air force combat airplanes. All flights of the Swifts are carried out in forth generation MiG-29 tactical fighters. The aerobatic team has had time to visit Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Italy and Malaysia in the years of its existence where they demonstrated supreme flight mastery and the leading achievements of Russian aircraft construction.

Citat:Defense Ministry: Flight Team May Be Created in Yak-130 Airplanes in Russia

A new flight team may be created on Yak-130 combat training airplanes in Russia under the name “9 May,” Vesti.RU reports referring to the Russian Federation defense minister, Anatoliy Serdyukov.

“Regarding the creation of an additional aerobatic team – we will think about it,” the minister said today. Commenting on a report about the possible creation of a flight team on Yak-130 airplanes under the name of “9 May,” Serdyukov said that it is “an interesting proposal.”

It is recalled that the Yak-130 has been selected as the basic airplane for primary and advanced training of Russia’s air force airmen. It is the primary component of Russia’s air force training complex, consisting of an integrated system of objective control, computer training classes and flight and specialized simulators.

The airplane is intended both for training and combat preparation of flight personnel, and also for combat usage in good and poor weather conditions against aerial and ground targets.
