The official Weibo account of Anqing City, Anhui Province reported that the remains of the pilot, Col. Cha Xianwei, were transferred back to his hometown on May 16.
Online social media accounts reported back then that the crash involved a Z-10 attack helicopter

Peruanski trejner Zlin 242L imao je nezgodu

On 21 May 2019, a Fuerza Aérea del Perú (FAP, Peru Air Force) Zlin 242L (serial 471, c/n 0720) made an emergency dip at sea near its home base Pisco. The Escuadrón Aéreo Primario 511, Grupo 51 machine was on a routine training flight.

Luckily, the pilot and instructor escaped unharmed and were rescued from the scene. The aircraft, however, sank under water and is a loss.

The Antonov had taken off from Jorhat-Rowriah Airport at 12:25 hrs local time, for a flight to Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground (an airstrip maintained by the air force and used frequently to bring in vital supplies from cities in Assam), close to the Indian-Chinese border.
Last radio contact was at 13:00 hrs. Search and rescue operations (which included a Sukhoi Su-30MKI, C-130J Hercules special Ops aircraft and several helicopters) spotted the wreckage near Payum village, close to Tato.
