The decision is a huge disappointment to Andhra Pradesh that had in January submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to use Viraat as a tourist attraction by converting it into a floating maritime museum-cum-star hotel to be berthed in Vizag.

India to Supply Refurbished ‘Kilo’-Class Submarine to Myanmar
Citat: India is set to hand over Myanmar its first ever submarine, with a Kilo class boat likely to be sent across this year after being refitted indigenously.

The INS Sindhuvir will be used by the Myanmar Navy — which is looking at acquiring its own submarine fleet in the coming years — for training purposes.

The Kilo class submarine, bought from Russia in the 1980s, is currently being modernised by the Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Vizag with sources saying that is likely be completed before the end of this year.

MDL delivers second Scorpène submarine to Indian Navy
Citat:India's Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has delivered another licence-built Kalvari (Scorpène)-class diesel-electric submarine (SSK) to the Indian Navy.

The vessel, which will be in service as INS Khanderi once commissioned, was handed over on 19 September at a delivery ceremony in Mumbai.

Khanderi is the second of six boats ordered under an INR230 billion (USD3.2 billion) contract signed with Naval Group (then known as DCNS) in October 2005 under India's Project 75 submarine programme. The programme's first-of-class, INS Kalvari , was commissioned in December 2017.

Russia waits for India’s order to supply MiG-29K fighters for Vikrant aircraft carrier
Citat:Russia has not yet received any requests from India for the delivery of a new batch of MiG-29K deck-based fighters for the Indian-made aircraft carrier Vikrant, a source in the aircraft-building industry told TASS on Wednesday.
Russia earlier provided all the necessary information to the Indian side on a possible contract, the source specified.
As the Indian newspaper, The Financial Express, reported earlier, citing India’s Defense Minister Sripad Naik, the wait for the country’s first indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant has been extended "due to issues with the delivery of aviation equipment from Russia."

Citat: Сейчас сроком передачи нового Vikrant на ходовые испытания официально назывался апрель 2020 года, с передачей ВМС Индии к концу 2022 года.
Новый Vikrant имеет полное водоизмещение 37,5 тысяч тонн, наибольшую длину 262 метра и наибольшую ширину 60 метров. Корабль использует трамплин для взлета самолетов. и должен нести авиаггруппу в составе истребителей МиГ-29К/КУБ, Naval Tejas, вертолетов РЛДН Ка-31 и противолодочных вертолетов (суммарно до 20 истребителей и 10 вертолетов). Авиатехническое оборудование, включая аэрофинишеры, будет российского производства.
