North Korean fishermen 'killed 16 colleagues' before fleeing to South

They crossed the maritime border on Saturday and were later detained by authorities in the South.
South Korea usually grants asylum to defectors but said that in this case, the two men posed a threat to national security.
They were treated as criminals - rather than defectors - and sent back.
After crossing the border on their squid fishing boat, it took two days for the South Korean navy to seize them.

One source in Seoul told the JoongAng Ilbo Monday, citing a U.S. government official, “The White House internally has confirmed $5 billion as the tentative amount” it expects Korea to pay.

“This amount is based on a new calculation method developed by the U.S. State Department,” the source said, adding that “the amount is non-negotiable.”
Ameri su došli do nove kalkulacije troškova vojske stacionirane u Koreji. Sada je to 5 miljardi dolara, poslednji dogovor je dobrih 900 miljona dolara na godinu.
