око тог "Херкулеса", много сам читао, па нашао и ово:
"Производство ракет было прекращено в 1964 году. С 1969, ракеты начали постепенно сниматься с вооружения. Изначально, армия планировала заменить их новым ЗРК MIM-104 Patriot, но по ряду причин этот план так и не был воплощен. К 1974 году, последний комплекс «Nike-Hercules» был снят с боевого дежурства в США, тем самым завершив историю централизованной американской ПВО. В Европе комплекс продолжал эксплуатироваться до 1980-х, пока не был снят с вооружения."

Given the lack of an indigenous system capable of dealing with such threats, civilian and military officials are now occupied with an urgent task: dealing with the threat of missiles in the post-Patriot era.
Germany and the US, claiming the Syrian regime is no longer capable of threatening Turkey with its reduced missile arsenal, announced last month they will withdraw Patriot batteries operated by their military personnel in the provinces of Kahramanmaraş and Gaziantep, respectively. But Turkish officials do not share their line of thinking.
According to threat assessments by Turkish military officials, the Syrian regime is capable of hitting civilian targets inside Turkish territory with Scuds that have a 700-kilometer reach.
Such missiles, however inaccurate and imprecise they may be, have significant potential to produce extensive damage and casualties when loaded with chemical and biological warheads.
Today's Zaman obtained information from a recent report revealing that the military will soon only be able to rely on outdated Nike Hercules missiles as a long-range air defense system.
Speaking to Today's Zaman on condition of anonymity, as they are not authorized to provide information to the public, security sources offered a bleak assessment of Turkey's ability to deal with an attack in the absence of Patriots.
"These [Nike Hercules] missiles were obtained from the US and produced using 1970s technology. It is unclear whether they even work," a source told Today's Zaman.
To address the lack of a national missile defense system, the country has awarded a tender to a Chinese company to produce a long-range air defense system after years of wrangling with other possible candidates during the bidding process.
It was the Chinese acquiescence to the unflinching Turkish demand for joint production and transfer of technology that guided the decision of the policymakers in Ankara, who have long sought ways to augment local production capabilities.
Turkey's pick of state-run defense firm China Precision Machinery Import-Export Corporation (CPMIEC) has added an element of friction to Ankara's relations with its NATO allies, particularly the US, due to possible implications of the deal. Another troubling factor stems from the fact that the US has sanctioned the company for its sale of arms to Iran, which violated an international ban imposed on Tehran over its alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Some NATO diplomats have previously stated that integrating a Chinese system into NATO's defenses would raise cyber-security concerns and issues about NATO swapping technical data with a Chinese firm.
The US had long advised Ankara not to opt for a non-NATO missile system, citing that it would cause interoperability problems, a concern shared by other NATO allies.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signaled that Turkey would reconsider its decision, facing criticism and pressure from its allies after eliminating US bidders Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, as well as Eurosam, a French-Italian consortium, to select CPMIEC for the six-year project code-named T-Loramids on Sept. 26, 2013.
The deal with China has yet to be finalized, and other companies eye renewing their bid in the event that the Turkish-Chinese agreement collapses.
E koliko je Turska siguran saveznik SAD?
Sve donedavno nisu dobili licencu za kompletnu proizvodnju lovaca F-16. Ameri im nisu dali licencu za ključne sisteme i motor. Osim toga iako su tražili još nisu dobili popunu sa UBS, koje su utrošili pre par godina u napadu na Kurde.
Iako su tražili Vlada SAD im nije odobrila nabavku RS Patriot, pa moraju da još uvek koriste RS Herkules.
E to vam je jedan od važnih igrača u NATO.
