The Chief Armaments Director Lubor Koudelka sent a letter to the French company that if KNDS does not start fulfilling the terms of the contract and does not prepare the howitzers for military tests, the Czech Republic will stop paying advances. The Ministry of Defence has already paid CZK 7 billion in advances and this year it should be more than CZK 1 billion.

KNDS has already produced two prototypes on which it has carried out control tests. They showed that the howitzers failed to meet several important parameters.

According to a reliable source, the problem is, for example, that the howitzers do not fire the required 40km in MRSI mode or that the KNDS has not yet delivered the data describing the relationship between the gun and the ammunition, without which the fire control system cannot function and the ammunition manufacturer cannot do without it to integrate its ammunition.

The Ministry of Defence is buying the Adler III fire control system for the Caesar howitzers from Germany's ESG for CZK 310 million (~$14.66 million) and 65,000 artillery shells from the Czech STV Group for CZK 12 billion (~$567.6 million).

Šta će Česima Cezar, ako imaju svoju Ditu? Ili razvoj Dite još nije završen?

Moguće neka trampa zato što koriste Tatra kamione. Dosta Cezara je bilo na toj šasiji, pa je to kao deo nekog većeg dogovora?

Ako dozvoljavate meni kao laiku samo bih primjetio da Dita ima cijev L45 sa kojom ima i manji domet dok Cezar ima L52. Druga stvar koju opet nagađam je moguća i želja da se baš sa L52 haubicom nadomijeste kapaciteti uposleni u 70 i kusur komada omaće haubice Dita za koje je Azerbejdžan potpisao ugovor sa Česima. To baš nešto spominjem u istom kontekstu što li je Azerbejdžan porucio posle haubica Dita L45 i naše Nore b52 L52 ?! Nemojte mi molim vas zamijeriti ako ovo nema nekog smisla, samo moje skromno viđenje. Ne vjerujem da je bitna informacija što su Dite na remontovanim šasijama tj. nijedna bar ranije nije bila na novoj šasiji.

"In September 2024, a successful CAESAR 8×8 firing demonstration took place, confirming a range in excess of 40 kilometres. KNDS France confirms its commitment and determination to ensure the successful implementation of this contract, which will enable the Czech Republic to meet its NATO commitments," the KNDS pledged.
The contract for the acquisition of new howitzers stipulated several capabilities that are essential for the Czech army to achieve. These include range, effectiveness of fire and interchangeability of ammunition.
Based on the documentation provided, the AČR conducted a series of technical analyses. In some parameters they confirm, in others they indicate the risk that the above mentioned non-negotiable parameters may not be fully met, according to First Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Miroslav Hlaváč.
