Indijci razvijaju novi IRST
Citat:Earlier this week, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), led by India’s defence minister, also approved the indigenous design and development of a long range dual band infrared imaging search and track system (IRST) for the Su-30 MKI. At least 100 units are to be procured.
It is not clear if the programme will also include structural upgrades allowing carriage of the 2.5t BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.
The air force wants approximately 40 Su-30 MKIs to be modified to accommodate the BrahMos. HAL is proposing new build aircraft for this requirement in order to keep the production line at Nasik alive for at least four more years.
The airframer now has 30 Su-30 MKIs left to produce, having delivered 192 aircraft as of April as per MoD figures. The remaining aircraft will be delivered by 2020-21.

Verovatno se radi o novom dvotalasnom IC-detektoru koji ce raditi u srednje i dugo-talasnom dijapazonu kao u slucaju onog `PIRATE` na Tajfunu .

Nidje veze,spram OLS-27/E ( OEPS-27/E ),daljine su realno povecane sa 100km moguce na 150km za PPS- lovac na forsazu (npr F-15C ) ,za rezim Maksimal =50-70km u ZPS( temp.motora/ mlaza ) i 30-40km u PPS (temp. oplate ) .Dakle skala daljine je uvecana sa 100 na 150 km verovatno, tu je to i ovo su vrednosti za date letne i meteo-paramete, za OLS-30 na Su-30MKA,MKI,MKM te SM naravno ,predpostavljam za M2 kao i one MK/MK2 .
Ovo sto rade Indusi je znaci poboljsanje mogucnosti otkrivanja lovaca ( misli se pretezno na nove stelt -lovce ,te sve druge 4te gen ) , u PPS sa vecih daljina dok lete na rezimu Mali gas-Maks .Otuda potreba za vecim talasnim duzinama IC-dijapazona da se jednostavno receno temp. oplate detektuje sa sto vece daljine posebno u prednjim rakursima .Kod OLS-35 je sad to dovedeno do nekih 50tak km u PPS za lovac na Maksimalu a recimo u ZPS na 70 km .Vidimo da su vrednosti gotovo pa jednake ,sto ce reci da je znatno povecana osetljivost foto-detektora/senzora toplo-pelengatora .

IAF not keen on getting more Sukhoi fighter jets
Citat:At a time when the Russians have offered to sell 40 more Sukhoi-30 combat aircraft to India, it seems that the Air Force is not keen to add more of these heavy weight and expensive to maintain fighter jets in its inventory.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) already has more than 220 of these Russian planes in its fleet and has plans of inducting all the 272 planes ordered by it over the years by the end of 2020.
"The Russians along with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which assembles the planes in India, have offered to sell 40 more of these planes to the Air Force but the Air Force does not seem to be very keen on acquiring them due to the heavy cost of maintanence which makes them very expensive to manage in the long run," government sources told Mail Today.
