Over the course of the full-scale war, Ukrainian forces have received a significant number of tracked APCs of the U.S.-designed M113 family, delivered in various versions.
Despite its age, the platform has proven effective, reliable, easy to maintain, spacious, and with adequate mobility.
Based on this experience, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense сформulated requirements for domestic manufacturers to develop a vehicle that would surpass the M113 in protection and firepower, while maintaining comparable mobility.
The “Skif” APC was developed within this framework, incorporating proven components and systems from international manufacturers involved in producing armored vehicles derived from the M113 platform.
The “Skif” APC is designed to transport troops and provide fire support, operating in all conditions.
It carries a crew of three and up to eight dismounts, with a rear ramp for access, and is built on a modular platform for multiple variants.
