Italijani ocekuju prve KF-51 Panther u periodu 2029-2030
Citat:Leonardo CEO, Roberto Cingolani, stated at a recent press conference that the first KF-51 Panther main battle tank prototypes are expected to be delivered to Italy in 2029-2030, a one- to two-year delay from initially announced plans.

Cingolani did, however, state that deliveries of the KF-51 MBT and the support vehicles based on it are planned to be completed by the end of 2033, which is two years ahead of the original timeline.

^^^ Izgleda da Italijani neuzimaju do sada vidjeni Panter nego prave sa Nemcima nesto. Prototip ce ce biti prikazan na Eurosatory sajmu.

The first 2 prototypes which will be delivered to the Italian Army in the future will mainly have German tech, similarly to how the Lynx/A2CS was delivered, Leonardo will modify it later. First, the roof armor is thick, and there are no optical periscopes (the crew hatch is likely a panel between the commander's rotating sight and the smoke grenade launcher).

Additionally, as countermeasures against drones/top attacks, it features a 30mm RWS, vertical smoke grenade launchers, and acoustic sensors for detecting drone flight sounds and gunfire.

It is also equipped with the active protection system "Strike Shield." This radar could potentially be used for air surveillance as well, but the countermeasure launchers appear to be positioned only on the turret sides, with no visible placement for top-attack countermeasures.
