Walther leucht-und granaatpistole-Z
Možda je malo duži teks ali jedino sam ga ovako mogao prebaciti okolo naokolo sa onog linka...
ENGLISH: The original Leuchtpistole had a smooth bore that was not very useful for the conceived purposes. An insert-barrel with a caliber of 23,4mm rifled with 5 grooves right twist was developed to be inserted into the otherwise unchanged Leuchtpistole which by this insertion became a Kampfpistole (combat pistol), sometimes also called Kampfpistole Z because of the white "Z" that was painted on the side of the chamber to discern it from the normal Leuchtpistole without the inserted rifled barrel used for firing the combat munitions. Both the signal and the combat version used spirit level scales that showed the firing angle as an aiming device. The weapon was 24.5 cm long and the barrel had a length of 15.5 cm. The grooved barrel allowed to shot a large variety of flare, explosive and marking ammunition. So-called Wurfkörpers (projectiles) were developed, which were a combination of the head of a handgrenade with a caliber-thick insertion shaft.
Obviously this type of projectile were muzzleloading.
The occasion for the creation of a drawn flairpistol may be sought in the increased use of Russian tanks in 1942.The Russian colossus had recovered from the concentrated attack of German troops and encouraged by his best ally,"Father Winter 1941", again able to send huge quantities of its nimble armored type T34 in action. As part of the countermeasures they might have come on with the idea, in Berlin, to use the cheaply manufactured flare gun, who indeed had through the tilting current shutter a rigid barrel catch, and bear it with a rifled barrel and arm it with special ammunition.
The gun itself was, as already mentioned, identical in all other parts of the normal pistol, yet, while from the towed gun all the normal pistol rounds could be fired, did not fit the cartridges from the combat pistol down the barrel of the flare gun, because, for example, the explosive charge at its thickest point had a diameter of 28.4 mm, in contrast to the normal of 26.25 flare gun.
The exact date of introduction could not be determined, after all, few details have been recorded, which are very revealing.
First, bears the pistol, which was produced at the company Erma-arms, Geipel GmbH, Erfurt (code = ayf), the date of manufacture 1942.
Secondly, on 25 3. 1942 under the No D 7900 a fact sheet for the testing of the flare gun Z and the special ammunition Deutpatrone Z, Nachrichtenpatrone Z, Fallschirmleuchtpatrone Z appeared. This leaflet was considered a secret object, and is intended "For official use only" and was ssued from the High Command of the Army, Army Ordnance and Official Group for development and testing in Berlin. Thus, should the identification with reasonable certainty that the gun has reached the first test and also for use in 1942.
Since in any relevant literature of that time as "Heerestechnisches Verordnungsblatt", "Sammlung der Verfügungen über das Waffengerät des Heeres", "Verzeichnis der Heeresvorschriften" and other guides will bring up an alert on this weapon, should be assumed that it has its very existence kept secret, it is also clear from the fact that, for example, the explosive charges (Sprengpatrone) were delivered in Cardboard containers, which will be labeled "Nicht in Feindeshand gelangen lassen - Bei Feindgefahr vernichten!" ("Let not get into enemy hands - destroying when enemy threat!!").In fact, the Kampfpistole (combat gun) is a fairly universal and effective weapon, although they differed in appearance only by an embossed Z on the left side then of the same pattern traditional flare pistol, could it not only fire the entire light-and signal ammunition in the caliber 4 (26.65 mm), but also a number of other cartridges, created specifically for this rifle.
The first model was the Wurfkörper 358 LP that joined the insertion shaft with the warhead of the regular Stielhandgranate ("stick hand grenade", the famous "potato-masher"). However the warhead proved too heavy which resulted in a too short range.
The second model, the Wurfkörper 361 LP, joined the shaft with a Eierhandgranate ("egg hand grenade") and proved more practical.Still some refinement was necessary in regard to stability during flight. In this final refinement the thick wooden shaft discarded after launch and left a thin steel tube that stabilized the projectile satisfactorily.Single handed shooting of the W 361 lp elegant but not very accurate.
