Among the first Czech aircraft built after World War II was the light twin-engine Aero Ae.45 Kocsag. The number "45" in the name indicated its capacity - 4/5 seats. Its development was carried out by designers Miroslav Baitler, Jiri Bouzek, Ondrej Nemec and Frantisek Vik at the then Aero company in Prague-Vysočany.

The all-metal Aero 45 had a number of interesting design features. Its two-spar wing consisted of three sections, the central one of which was the carrier for the engine nacelles. The aircraft's power plant had two Walter Minor 4-Ш engines with a capacity of 105 hp each. High-quality coating and the use of rivets with a smooth flat head improved the aircraft's performance.

The front part of the cabin housed adjustable seats for the pilot and co-pilot (or passenger), as well as one or two control columns. Two or three more passengers were located in the back on a bench, behind which was a luggage compartment. With the rear bench removed, the aircraft's capacity was significantly increased. In this case, the Aero 45 was used as a short-range transport aircraft for the carriage of cargo and mail. This model, fully equipped with the necessary radio equipment, measuring and navigation instruments, was also adapted for night flights. The removable wheeled chassis could be replaced with skis or floats if necessary. The Aero 45 prototype made its first flight in July 1947. The production aircraft was first "seen" in public in Great Britain in 1949, where the machine, which developed a speed of 262 km/h, won the Norton-Griffiths Prize. It was produced in fairly large quantities and was eagerly bought abroad, since it was considered very light and reliable to control. In total, about 700 Aero 45s were built, of which at least 80 were sold abroad (to the GDR, Switzerland, the USSR, etc.).
The Czechoslovak Air Force used Aero 45s for military purposes for a very short time under the designation K-75. Production of the Aero 45 series ceased in 1963.
