Navy to Induct 24 P-8I Maritime Reconnaissance Aircraft
Citat:The Indian Navy will acquire 12 more Boeing P-8I long-range maritime reconnaissance (LRMR) aircraft to boost its eye in the sky over India's territorial waters and exclusive economic zone. This is in addition to the 12 already ordered, a top commander said.

To je ericson erieye (švedska) na embraer(brazil) zrakoplovu. ništa oni tu nisu razvili, samo keširali.
indigeniously developed podrazumijeva nešto što je napravljeno samostalno.

Niko ne misli da je avion njihov. Avio nije bitan. Poenta je u radaru i svemu vezanom za njega. A radar je njihov, oni su razvili radar i sve pratece sisteme i nakacili na avion. Tako da jeste prvi njihov avaks. Vazno je imati radar a lako je nakaciti ga na odgovarajuci avion.

Citat:Deals for Acquisition of C-130 J Super Hercules
Government has not inked any follow-on deal for acquiring nine additional C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft with the US.
However, a Letter of Request (LoR) has been issued to the U.S. Government for the procurement of the additional aircraft.
Besides, proposal for the procurement of 75 Basic Trainer Aircrafts (BTA) is being progressed. No contract has been signed so far.
The cost of the procurements will be known once the contracts are finalised and signed.
Capability building of the Indian Air Force (IAF) is undertaken on a continuous basis to meet the security challenges facing the country.
This information was given by Defence Minister Shri AK Antony in a written reply to Shri Ranjitsinh Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil in Rajya Sabha today.
