Premijer Malezije Mahatir Muhamed izjavio je da je njegova zemlja spremna da u potpunosti obustavi kupovinu aviona iz Evrope i pređe na ruske letelice u slučaju da EU stopira uvoz palminog ulja.

„Ako budete ograničavali uvoz, preduzećemo iste mere. Počećemo da kupujemo ruske avione, a ne vašše“, rekao je on na samitu Asocijacije zemalja jugoistočne Azije (ASEAN) u Bangkoku, prenosi Sputnjik.

Bio je i premijer da obidje fabriku. Realno ovo je jedini avion koji pokriva sve zahteve, i trenazer i laki borbeni( kombinacija T-50 i FA-50)

Malaysia considers ‘fighter exchange’ offer from Russia
Citat:Malaysia has received an offer from Russia to part exchange its fleets of Russian multirole combat aircraft for new models, Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu has confirmed in parliament.
Sabu said the government is considering the offer from Moscow but indicated that the priorities of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) are in procuring capabilities such as surveillance and light attack. He also indicated that Malaysia would not realistically consider buying a new multirole combat aircraft until after 2030.
The RMAF currently operates about 18 Su-30MKM fighters, which were delivered from 2007. The service has also recently retired what is believed to be 10 MiG-29s, which were operated from the mid-1990s.
In parliament, Sabu was asked if Malaysia "is willing to accept the Russian government's offer to take back 28 jets" and "replace them with new aircraft made by [Russia]". The deal - reported to include the transfer of new Su-35 or MiG-35 models - would also likely comprise the countertrade of Malaysian palm oil.

India is said to be offering the Mk1A version of the LCA with modern AESA radar, new avionics and the capability to integrate a variety of weaponry to the Malaysian Air Force. The potential export order from Malaysia is likely to have an initial size of 12 fighter jets, with the option for 24 more fighter jets in the future.
According to the ET report, the Indian fighter jet has emerged as the top contender for the Malaysian Air Force as it is cheaper than Swedish Gripen, and more modern and capable than Pakistan's Chinese origin JF-17 jet.
Besides the LCA Tejas, Gripen and the JF 17, the South Korean T 50 is also a contender for the contract.
Other than the aircraft, India is also offering the Malaysian Air force full support in training both ground and air personnel. It is also offering to build a full maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for the jets in Malaysia to ensure a higher availability rate.
It should be noted that the Indian Air Force (IAF) has already placed orders for 83 Tejas jets. The aircraft is priced at just over $42 million a unit.
