So-called Kosovo's Defence Minister Ejup Maqedonci announced that the Government of Kosovo has approved the initiative to conclude a Military Financial Agreement with Turkey.
Under the agreement, Ankara will provide 200 million Turkish lira (3.9M euros) to support the strengthening of the so-called Kosovo Security Force's operational capacities.

Satellite 🛰 imagery suggests an expansion of the Ðakovica military airport. Works are visible along the northern part of the airport, where changes in the terrain indicate a possible expansion of the paved area.

Rectangular shapes visible in the imagery may indicate the intention to construct helipads for future helicopter operations. The airport currently hosts Turkish-made 🇹🇷 Bayraktar TB2 drones.

The potential infrastructure expansion appears consistent with so-called Kosovo's announced plans to acquire Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk military helicopters.

According to Defence Minister Ejup Maqedonci, so-called Kosovo has already laid the groundwork for operating the Black Hawk, and the contract with US 🇺🇸 company Lockheed Martin-Sikorsky is expected to be finalized soon. Priština had first announced its intention to acquire the helicopters in December 2025.

The Defence Ministers of so-called Kosovo and Turkey have signed a military-financial cooperation agreement under which the Turkish 🇹🇷 government will provide so-called Kosovo with 200 million Turkish lira (~3.780.000 €) to strengthen the capabilities of the Kosovo* Security Force (KSF) and support its institutional and professional development.
The agreement was signed by Ejup Maqedonci and Turkish National Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, on the sidelines of the SAHA Expo 2026 defence fair in Turkey .
The KSF currently counts approximately 4,000 members and has an annual budget approaching €208 million.

Citat:Recently, so-called Kosovo's Defence Minister Ejup Maqedonci has clarified that the BMC VURAN armoured vehicles are not subject to any legal disputes, as the majority of them are being provided as grants by Turkey.
In total, 6 VURAN mortar-carrier vehicles are reportedly set to enter so-called Kosovo's inventory: 5 are being donated by Turkey 🇹🇷, while 1 is being purchased with so-called Kosovo's own budget.
Maqedonci confirmed that the 1st three vehicles have already been delivered as planned, with the remaining three to be delivered according to the schedule agreed upon with Türkiye. He clarified that the procurement was handled by the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, as this is a grant rather than a commercial contract signed by so-called Kosovo, meaning no legal action could be pursued in the event of delays.
