As part of its military reform, South Korea has decided to restore the independence of the Marine Corps. Currently, two divisions of South Korean marines are part of the ground forces in terms of operational command. After half a century, the Republic of Korea Marine Corps will be restored as an independent combat and command unit.
According to the plan, operational control over the 1st and 2nd Marine Divisions will be returned to the Republic of Korea Marine Corps by the end of 2026 and 2028, respectively.

+ Војници из Прве бригаде противваздушне одбране Војске Републике Кореје су на 24-часовној дужности како би заштитили део Сеула од ваздушних претњи.

Наоружани су противваздушним системима KP-SAM Chiron и противваздушним топовима M167A3 Vulcan.
