U najgorem gubitku u miru za indijsku RM, u sudaru sa trgovackim brodom potonula je fregata INS Vindhyagiri. Fregata se nakon sudara zapalila a posle i potonula. Nesreca se desila prilikom povratka u luku. Na srecu, nije bilo poginulih mornara.

Šta reći na ovo....
Nikad mi nije bilo jasno kako uspeju da se sudare i to još na moru.
Navodno, ovaj brod je bio planiran za povlačenje iz upotrebe ali u neko dogledno vreme - sad indijci neće morati da se bave silnom papirologijom za razduženje
Traljavost do amena, naleteo trgovački brod usred bela dana i to u akvatoriju same luke gde je pažnja najveća. Možda su podplatili kapetana pa da osiguranje plati Indiji novi ratni brod ili su otkazali motori druge nema.
Isto me zaćuđuje kako može ratni brod potonuti posle obićnog sudara? To je moguće jedino ako je zbog udarca nešto neplanirano eksplodiralo iz ko zna kakvog razloga?

Uncle Albert: Just 'cos I was on watch at the time. I had me excuses ready!
Rodney: What, were you drunk?
Uncle Albert: Don't be silly! The American vessel was at battle stations and was showing no light. You weren't allowed. There was a war on.
Del Boy: Course there was.
Uncle Albert: So then they tried to get me on naval technicalities, like it happened in broad daylight.
Rodney: You didn't see an aircraft carrier?
Del Boy: Forty-two thousand tons of steel!
Uncle Albert: Well I wasn't close enough!
Rodney: You must have been reasonably close. Unc, you hit it!
Del Boy: They'd have stood more chance with Ray Charles in the crow's nest!"
pa ako odjeljci nisu bili zatvoreni dovoljan je prodor vode od sudara i doviđenja. s obzirom da su se svi srećom spasili, predpostavljam da nakon prodora vode i nije baš pokušavano spašavanje broda već su se igrali razlaza.
što je i pametno, jer čemu ugrožavati ljudske živote zbog broda koji bi ionako skoro u otpis.. sad ostaje pitanje koliko će podrtina smetati prometu.. sumnjam da je indijce briga za ekološku stranu priče..

Zamale me ubio smjehom kada si to postovao. I ja sam pomislio na Alberta: "Djuing the war..."
Neviđena glupost Indijaca. Sada pokušavaju da odgovornost za incident prišiju slovačkom kapetanu a postoji velika mogućnost da lučka kontrola nije radila svoj posao.
Mada i da nisu gde li su im oči bile.
Sa druge strane ovo je star tip broda od kojih su svi sem 2 (sada jedan) povučeni iz upotrebe. Možda želeli da se brzo oslobode ovog pa da odmah pređu na nove Type 11356 frigate ?
Mislim da su rekli da se fregata nalazi na samo 7m dubine tako da će sigurno biti izvađena a sada da li će je sređivati ili ne to na njima ostaje.
Kuriozitet je da je fregata potonula 15 sati nakon sudara i za svo to vreme su vatrogasci pokusavali da ugase vatru.
Nikom izgleda nije palo na pamet da pošalje tug boat-e.
