Flight Lt Abayomi Dairo ejected and used "survival instincts" to avoid capture and find shelter, before rejoining his comrades.
The attack happened on the border of the northern Zamfara and Kaduna states.
Armed gangs - referred to locally as "bandits" - have been blamed for a spate of recent kidnappings in this part of north-western Nigeria.
Students and schoolchildren have been targeted - more than 1,000 have been kidnapped since December. Most have since been freed, reportedly after ransoms were paid, but some have been killed.

Нигер није исто што и Нигерија, али јесу комшијска држава на северној граници Нигерије где влада Боко Харам. Био сам у Нигерији 2018. и могу вам рећи тамо је лудница... свака им част што се још држе да не изгубе целу земљу од терориста

ISIS – West Africa Province (ISWAP) continues to launch attacks against government forces and civilians in the northeastern region of Nigeria.

On October 23, the terrorist group’s cells carried out two “hit-and-run” attacks in the provinces of Borno and Yobe. The group maintain a strong presence in both provinces.

In Yobe, ISWAP fighters attacked a position of the Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) located near the town of Katarkwa. According to ISIS news agency, Amaq, three soldiers were killed and a pickup truck was destroyed. Another pickup, a motorcycle and some weapons were also captured. The agency released photos from the attack on October 26.

ISIS propaganda has provided a video dedicated to the group’s activities in Nigeria. The main part of the seventeen-minute film consists of attacks on government troops in the states of Borno and Yobe. The attacks were made in the spring period, before the leader of Boko Haram, Abu Bakr Shekau, was killed.
