A modernized PTMS solution, paired with the F135 ECU, will enable beyond Block 4 capabilities,” program office spokesperson Russ Goemaere said in a statement to Breaking Defense.

cak se razmatralo da stave sasvim novi motor u njega vremenom (koji se razvija za avion 6. gen), medjutim to bi tek bilo prekupo, pa su se odlucili na modernizaciju postojeceg.

Citat:A Marine Corps F-35C Lightning II from the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron [VMFA] 311, based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California, has experienced an unexpected nose landing gear implosion.
This incident occurred shortly after a practice exercise, as conveyed by images anonymously sent to The Aviationist.
Citat:The fighter jet was parked under a sunshade following a successful training flight on January 26, 2024. As per the anonymous report we received, the pilot had just powered down the aircraft without any problems. However, as they started to descend the ladder, the nose landing gear began to mysteriously retract.
By the time the pilot was halfway down the ladder, the nose landing gear had completely collapsed. The photographs we received show the aircraft resting on its Electro-Optical Targeting System’s glass cover, which appears to be undamaged. As far as we understand, this is the first incident of a complete collapse of an F-35C jet’s nose landing gear. Prior incidents of a similar nature have only been reported in the A and B variants of the jet.

F-35 To Get Meteor, SPEAR 3 Missiles “By End Of Decade”

The U.K. Ministry of Defense has confirmed that its F-35B stealth fighters will be armed with Meteor air-to-air missiles and SPEAR 3 precision-guided standoff munitions by the “end of the decade.” The new weapons promise to bring a major leap in capability for the F-35B, especially when combined with the enhancements that the Block 4 upgrade will provide, especially for the aircraft’s radar, which will make the Meteor even more formidable.
