How F-35s Deployed To A Narrow Highway In California
The War Zone was on the scene for VMX-1’s exercise Obsidian Iceberg, that served as a glimpse of what’s to come in the Pacific.
The United States Marine Corps’ Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1) spends most of its time trialing and evaluating new hardware, weapons, and software updates for Marine aircraft. In between all of those testing events, leaders at the squadron came up with an organic effort to bring in all of their assets for an ongoing test event with a heavy focus on Expeditionary Air Basing Operations (EABO) which is a major initiative that could prove essential to winning a war in the Pacific.

This loading of JSOW is first loading of it on F-35C and first time being loaded in a garrison environment in nearly 20 years.

70% Or More Of F-35s May Not Be Combat-Capable
https://www.zerohedge.com/military/70-or-more-f-35s-may-not-be-combat-capable Citat:Even for someone who is an F-35 realist, the results are shocking. Not only is the F-35 fleet’s full mission capable rate in the neighborhood of 30 percent (see table on page 96 of the report), the full mission capable rate of the Marine Corps’ F-35B was a miserable 15.5 percent in March 2023. More current full mission capable rates have not been published, but given the program’s ongoing problems and issues, including unreliable engines that are now under-specced due to feature creep, it is highly unlikely the situation has improved in the last year.

Sa F35B je stanje loše, što je bio i problem Hariera.

Citat:Lack of availability of spare parts. In our survey of F-35 installations,
officials at 10 of 15 installations stated that a significant day-to-day
maintenance challenge for the F-35 was the availability of spare parts.
This challenge is borne out in data from the F-35 Joint Program Office,
which shows that during fiscal year 2022, about 27 percent of the time F35 aircraft at U.S. units were unable to operate due to the lack of a spare

Britain takes delivery of more new F-35 stealth jets Citat:With one aircraft lost in an accident and four test jets in the US, there are now 30 of the type in operational service in the UK.
There is an expectation that all of the 47 in the first batch will be delivered by the end of 2025. Note that it would have been 48 if one didn’t crash.
After that, the Ministry of Defence expressed the intention to purchase another tranche of jets.

The 25mm automatic cannon nestled inside the F-35A variant of the Joint Strike Fighter is now deemed to be an effective weapon. For years, a host of issues had left these stealth fighters unable to shoot straight. Problems with the 25mm cannon have also been a particularly notable talking point in the still-controversial debate over plans to supplant the venerable A-10 Warthog ground attack jet with the F-35A.

Grci bi da zamene Block 3 za Block 4
Greece swaps F-35 Block 3 for Block 4 to deploy Meteor BVRAAM Citat:Currently, Greece is discussing the procurement of 20 F-35A Block 3 fighter jets.
However, a credible Greek news outlet, Pentapostagma, is reporting a change of plans. The negotiations between Athens and Washington appear to be leaning towards a swap of the Block 3 jets for the advanced Block 4 versions. A cursory look back at BulgarianMilitary.com reveals that when the green light was given for Greece to acquire the F-35, the jet model in question was Block 3.
When observing Greece’s upgrade from Block 3 to Block 4, the change is significant and largely influenced by their desire to incorporate the French Meteor BVRAAM [beyond visual range air-to-air missile] missile. As an existing user of the Meteor, courtesy of their acquisition of 24 Dassault Rafale fighter jets from France, this strategic move is logical for Athens.
