Japan to revise National Defense Program Guidelines to convert JS Izumo into aircraft carrier
Citat:Japan is taking another step towards converting JS Izumo into an aircraft carrier. Media outlets are reporting that Tokyo intends to revise the National Defense Program Guidelines next month to allow the helicopter destroyer to be converted to operated fixed-wing aircraft.

Zbog veličine i ograničenja same klase dobiće eskortne brodove, lake nosače sa mogućnošću da F35 dejstvuje sa njega. Ali čak za to moraće dobro preraditi oba broda nijedan nije dizajniran da avioni dejstvuje sa njega.
