The combat weight of the ZSMU 30/40 is under 1,500 kg, including a single Spike ATGM launcher.
The main armament is a 30 mm Mk.44S Bushmaster II cannon, capable of firing ABM ammunition, and a coaxial 7.62 mm Bushmaster Chain Gun Mk.52.
The elevation range is -12° to +65° and can be increased to +70°.
The ammunition capacity is 200 rounds of 30x173 mm (120 and 80 rounds) and 400 rounds of 7.62x51 mm for the machine gun.
The ZSMU 30/40 mm is being developed primarily with potential export customers in mind.
In-plant testing is scheduled to begin in the fall, using a Waran 4×4 carrier.

The contract was awarded under International Competition No. 003‑2025, launched by the Ministry of the Interior for a multipurpose 4×4 armored vehicle program aimed at strengthening riot‑control and public‑security capabilities.
