Citat:In 1990, the Republic of South Africa purchased two T-72M1 tanks manufactured in Bumar Labedy,Poland.
The program, called "Operation Carbenet", was intended to determine the modernization potential in comparison to the existing armored forces and a possible purchase of a larger number for the Armored Forces of the Republic of South Africa.
"Operation Cabernet" was carried out between March and May 1990.

Citat:The Indian Ministry of Defence has announced an agreement with Russia for the supply of engines for T-72 tanks used by the Indian Army. The contract is worth $248 million.

According to a ministry statement, the deal is aimed at modernising the country's tank fleet. The contract with Russia's Rosoboronexport involves the purchase of 1,000-horsepower engines.
These engines will replace the existing T-72 engines, which have an output of 780 hp.
