An approximate total of 117 aircraft are believed to have been auctioned off, with the majority being MiG-27s, MiG-29s, and Su-24s, and even a few MiG-31s. To be specific, Kazakhstan intends to sell 10 MiG-31 aircraft right away.

The conditions of sale are rather distinctive.
The auctioned aircraft, which are termed “boards”, have reportedly reached their limit of service life and upgrading, rendering them unfit for purpose or even to serve as “part donors”.

Citat:The mighty 356th Fighter Aviation Regiment (356th IAP) of the Soviet Air Defence Forces (PVO) (356-й истребительный авиационный полк ПВО) was transferred, together with its MiG-31s, to the newly established Kazakhstan Air Defence Forces on 1 January 1992, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Citat:In 2001, the regiment relocated from Semey (formerly Semipalatinsk) to Karaganda. As far as is known, ten MiG-31s never made the move and have remained in storage ever since.
Forty years after receiving its first MiG-31, the legendary "Semey Ten" survivors of the once-proud regiment were scrapped.
