Par nesreća ruskih aviona, koje se pominju u gornjim porukama, kroz analizu i izjave opitnih pilota koji su se katapultirali :
(i još mnogo toga zanimljivog)
Ako gresim neka me neko ispravi.
Neverovatna slika pada RAF-ovog English Electric P1B Lightning-a 1962 godine....
Citat:
The picture of a jet about to crash into a farmers field is of a Mk 1 Lightning aircraft of either 29, 56 or 111 Squadrons, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Wattisham, Suffolk, England. It crashed into a field just off the end of the runway. I was there but can't remember the date or which squadron it was.
This famous picture was taken by a chap called Jim Meads and is of English Electric P1B Lightning XG332 (used for test flying by BAC and DeHavilland) being departed by test pilot George Aird on September 13th 1962. The aircraft suffered an engine fire which burned through the tailplane actuator rods causing XG332 to go into a violent pitch-up about 10 seconds before landing at the DeHavilland aerodrome at Hatfield (not Wattisham). The pilot ejected and landed in a greenhouse. He broke both legs, but was flying Lightnings again a year or so later.
The photo was the centre page spread in the Daily Mail on October 9th 1962.

Jim Meads Grandson Oli contacted us and corrected the spelling of his last name and also mentioned that both his dad and his uncle were present that day as well.
