Britanci ce na Farnoborou pokazati mockup nove krstarece rakete dizajnirane za F-35, koji ce moci da ponese 4 takve krstarece rakete u unutrasnjim spremnicima za oruzje. Ocekuje se da ce imati domet od oko 100 km.

Firm decisions have yet to be made on the final Spear configuration, but MBDA says it will be about 2m (6.5ft) long, carry a multi-effect warhead and use a multimode seeker. The high subsonic-speed weapon will also feature INS/GPS guidance, and be able to receive mid-course updates via an onboard datalink.

The basis of the concept is now in an assessment phase study for the UK Ministry of Defence's Spear Capability 3 requirement. This activity is due to conclude in 2014 with an airframe and propulsion system demonstration using a representative weapon design.

SPEAR designed to attack over-the-horizon mobile targets

The new weapon has a fuselage of circular cross-section, dorsally mounted flip-out wings that fold rearward for stowage and three folding tail surfaces. (The earlier 100B design had a fuselage of rectangular cross-section and four tail fins arranged in an X configuration.)

According to MBDA, SPEAR will be less than 2 m long in order to fit within the weapons bay of the F-35, about 18 cm in diameter and will weigh less than 100 kg. Four will be carried on a dedicated launcher in each of the aircraft's internal weapons bays, while others could be carried in the aircraft's underwing pylons. The same pattern of launcher will also be compatible with the hardpoints of the Eurofighter Typhoon.

UK Backs MBDA on Mini-Cruise Missile Requirement

Od ovakvih vesti Rusima se jede dzigerica.
Taman mislili da su nahvatali sve sto leti...kad ono, evo pravog game-changera. Prava mini-krstareca raketa koja, pored turbomlaznog motora koji omogucava domet od 130km, vrhunske GSN, ima i INS/GPS/datalink koji je vodi na mars-ruti do cilja. I jos stelt-karakteristike, preko svega toga. Za Spear-3 se veruje da ima ERP od svega 0,007-0,01 m2, sto ga svrstava u ubojna sredstva koja je gotovo nemoguce otkriti, narocito u slucaju kada se koristi nizi rezim leta, prikriven reljefom.
Pored klasicne verzije, u razvoju je u Spear-3EW, cija je prvenstvena uloga generisanje smetnji u elektromagnetnom spektru, tj. ometanje protivnickog PVO svojim DRFM ometacem. Istina, (pre)jaki radari sistema S-400 mogu da ga otkriju, ali pitanje je na kojoj daljini, visini, koliko daleko od svojih polozaja i kako naci odgovarajuce sredstvo za unistenje.
Rusi se tese da Irbis-E i OLS na Su-35 mogu da otkriju Spear-3, ali to opet znaci da moras da imas avion u vazduhu koji patrolira u potrazi za protivnickim raketama.
F-35B moze da ponese 8 komada Spear-3 u unutrasnjim spremnicima, a Typhoon na 4 3-struka nosaca cak 12 komada.

Već gledam Rusa kome se "jede džigerica" od rakete dometa 130 km. Tajfun sa 16 ovakvih igračaka svetli ko božićna jelka a sve i sa F-35 znate li vi koliko isti treba da uđe u VaP Rusije da bi ugrozio bilo šta ozbiljnije sa oružjem dometa 130km i koje su mu šanse protiv slojevite PVO? "Moćni" Britanac gađa Rusa na 130km a ovaj mu sa 3000km vraća triput težu KR sa aviona koji ponese celog Tajfuna sa svih 16 komada i leti istom brzinom. Samo da stigne to naručeno pa će verovatno odma na Moskvu.

Nije SPEAR napravljen za III sv. rat već za dejstvo po neprijateljskom oklopu van dometa PVO.
