IAF cancels training amid string of safety incidents
Citat:The Israel Air Force cancelled all training flights on Thursday following a string of safety incidents in recent days.
IAF chief Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel cancelled the training after learning of the incidents, which included a near miss involving two fighter jets.
The offending pilot was sentenced to five days in military prison. Eshel ordered air crews to spend the day going over safety procedures.

Citat:The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is set to get another 100 Achzarit heavy armoured personnel carriers (APCs) with new engines.
The US Department of Defense announced on 29 April a Foreign Military Sales contract covering the supply of 100 unidentified engine assembly kits and 100 transmission upgrade kits "in support of efforts to repair and upgrade Israel's Achzarit heavy armoured personnel carriers".
Worth USD16 million, the contract was awarded to the New Jersey-based company Diesel Engineering Inc and is expected to be completed by October 2017.
This follows a USD20.8 million contract that the DoD awarded to Diesel Engineering Inc in May 2010 for an unstated number of engine upgrade kits, transmission and cooling systems for Israeli Achzarit APCs. The DoD said at the time that the horsepower of the vehicles would be increased by approximately 20%.

Američki State Department odobrio je Izraelu nabavu 1,87 milijardi dolara vrijednog oružja i komponenti za njihovo precizno navođenje kako bi se poboljšale sposobnosti postojećih sustava i olakšala suradnja američkih i izraelskih snaga. Ako posao bude finaliziran, Izrael će dobiti zalihu precizno vođenog streljiva koje se sastoje od 750 bombi za bunker, 3000 Hellfire raketa, 250 raketa srednjeg dometa zrak-zrak i 4.100 "glide" bombi.
Paket također uključuje 14.500 sustava za navođenje projektila - Joint Direct Attack Munitions - koje pretvaraju nenavođene bombe u GPS-vođene projektile. Oružje će unaprijediti izraelske vojne sposobnosti i potaknuti obrambenu suradnju između Izraela i SAD-a, priopćila je američka DSCA.
