The programme aims to procure three new light or midsize twin-engine business jets to fully replace the capabilities of the current Learjets.
The new aircraft are expected to perform passenger and VIP transport, light cargo transport, government and military liaison flights, potential future special-mission tasks (depending on configuration). The Finnish Defence Forces determined that turboprop aircraft would not adequately meet the operational requirements, and the replacement aircraft must have at least two engines

The order, worth around EUR 2.4 million, includes TAC WIN systems’ tactical routers, radio heads, and Bittium Tough Comnode devices. The delivery of the systems are expected this year.
TAC WIN (Tactical Wireless IP Network) system and Tough Comnode devices provide secure, high-performance broadband communications for mobile troops, enabling reliable voice and data to support situational awareness across the battlespace.
Bittium and the Finnish Defence Forces have jointly developed the TAC WIN system as part of Finland’s M18 C5 system since 2011.
