Swedish Air Force Pilots to Train in Italy from January
Citat:Yesterday, the armed forces signed an agreement with the Italian air force that part of the Swedish flight training for fighter pilots will take place in Italy from January 2024 up to ten years ahead. The agreement was signed by the Air Force Chief, Major General Jonas Wikman, and the Italian counterpart, Lieutenant General Luca Goretti, Italian Air Force Chief of Air Staff.
In January next year, the first batch of the Aviation School's fighter pilot students will begin training in Italy. The Italian air unit that will train our students is the 61st Stormo, and the training will be based at Galatina air base outside Lecce as well as Decimomannu air base in Sardinia.

Citat:The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has issued a request for information (RFI) on 5 February for the replacement of its Saab ARTHUR (ARTtillery HUnting Radar) weapon locating system (WLS).
According to the RFI provided to Janes , the Swedish Armed Forces seeks a future WLS capability to support indirect fire and counter-fire operations at the brigade level. The system must also “include the capability to sense and warn friendly forces of threats originating from indirect fire. As such, it must be integrated into the C2 [command-and-control] and ISTAR [intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance] systems of the land forces”, the RFI said.
Along with this, the new WLS must be able to sense, detect, classify, and localise unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and counter such threats, the RFI added.
