Ovo je takva sramota Boinga , da tanker prave 15 godina a isti je kao i prethodnici baziran na postojecem komercijalnom avionu, i to njihovom 767. Ne pravis nesto radikalno novo kao F35. Tolike godine, rokovi, pare...

Pa ima dosta i njihove krivice a dosta krivice i odredjenih sistema koje prave kooperanti. Pa negde i samog USAF-a npr na testiranju pre nego su dobili sertifikat za crevo ili kako oni kažu (boom) ali na A-10 nije testiran pa je kako to uvek biva baš na tom avionu nastao problem sa crevom. Ona čuvena kamera nije delo boinga već firme Colins aerospace koja je deo Rayteona. APU jedinica bila je problem radila je Honeywell, Ima i dosta boing-ovih gresaka neke zaptivke koje su propuštale stavljene su sa novog 777 i jos dosta stvari..
Imaju sada 4 nedostataka kategorije 1 od toga dve su vezane za kameru kojom će se navoditi crevo( nema više vizuelnog navodjenja)
I dalje je ostao problem sa crevom koje će redizajnirati da bi rešili problem oko dopune A-10 ovo plaća USAF
Curenje gotova plaća sam Boing.
Ali ubedljivo najveći problem su kamere...

KC-46A pilots cannot take off until OBIGGS counts to zero
Citat:A category 2 deficiency for the KC-46A aerial refueling tanker is prevent pilots from taking off in the tanker until the On-Board Inert Gas Generation System (OBIGGS) countdown timer reaches zero.
OBIGGS will fill the fuel tanks with nitrogen to prevent the tanks from exploding if there is residual fuel inside.
Maj. Tim McBride, an instructor pilot with the 931st Air Refueling Wing, told Defense News that the system take on average 1.5 hours to be ready. But occasionally, the countdown timer will reset and that increased the waiting time.
To fix the issue, the service has decided to amend the flight manual so that the flight crew can now take off even if the OBIGGS is still counting down. This will be implemented next month.

KC-46 Deliveries Slow, But TRANSCOM Optimistic About Refueling Capacity

Despite this slow delivery rate, the head of U.S. Transportation Command told lawmakers on April 13 he is comfortable with the current aerial refueling capacity, noting there are more legacy tankers flying and the KC-46 could potentially begin flying limited operations this summer.
The Air Force accepted just two new tankers so far this year, significantly less than the two per month it had expected. There has not been a KC-46 delivery since early February, when Pease Air National Guard Base, N.H., received its 12th and final tanker. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center said in an April 13 statement that subsequent deadlines passed without deliveries.

A group of 12 Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) aircrew students have started their training to operate the KC-46 aerial refueling tanker at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
The three-months conversion course is made up of three phases. The academic phase will have four classes daily before they proceed to the second phase to work on simulators and performed pre-briefs and debriefs. The group will then proceed to fly eight flights and a check ride with one of the 56th Air Refueling Squadron instructors before graduating.
