Lobi ali i Pentagon koji je sve radio tad da osigura ATF. U F-14 bez problema staje F119 i imas visak prostora (moze da stane i F135 komotno) pa bi bio ozbiljna konkurencija ATF-u. Sa F135 bi imao veci potisak na maksimalu nego sa F110 na forsazu

A tek kakav AESA radar moze da se spakuje u Tomcatovu nonju da ne pricamo.

Inace USAF je navodno iz istog razloga ubila F-16XL jer sa F119 derivatom ili cak jacim F110 bi mogao da superkrstari sa istim V-V naoruzanjem ko ATF.

Dizajner F-14 prica o tome koliko su naucili od F-111 i koliko je to uticalo na F-14, kao i sta je sve bilo novo na F-14.
