Citat:The Italian Ministry of Defense’s new Multi-Year Defense Planning Document (DPP) 2025–2027 envisions a future in which the Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force) operates ten MQ-9A Block 5 remotely piloted aircraft — combining existing upgraded units with fresh acquisitions.
Already, Italy has begun upgrading its current MQ-9A fleet to the Block 5 standard. These modernized platforms form the backbone of future operations. The DPP adds a clear target: acquire five new units, bringing the total to ten. This “5 upgraded + 5 new” arrangement balances capability growth with logistical and budgetary realism.

Nemacka mornarica kupuje 8 MQ-9B Sea Guardian.
Citat:Die Deutsche Marine wird für die Seefernaufklärung und die U-Boot-Jagd vier Systeme eines sogenannten Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) des US-Hersteller General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) erhalten. Jedes System besteht aus zwei Drohnen des Typs MQ-9B SeaGuardian sowie weiterer Komponenten und einer Führungsausstattung, so dass die Bundeswehr insgesamt acht MQ-9B beschaffen wird.
Der finanzielle Umfang des aus dem Sondervermögen sowie dem regulären Haushalt gespeisten Vertrages wird gut informierten Kreisen zufolge mit rund 1,52 Milliarden Euro beziffert, wobei in dieser Summe für einen zweijährigen Anfangsbetrieb Ersatzteile sowie weitere Dienstleistungen wie etwa das Training des fliegerischen Personals inbegriffen sind. Der Zulauf der Maschinen, die auf dem Marineflieger-Stützpunkt Nordholz stationiert werden sollen, ist für den Zeitraum 2028 bis 2030 vorgesehen. Dem Vernehmen nach sollen die unbemannten Flugzeuge in den Jahren 2031 und 2032 auf eine Konfiguration zur U-Boot-Jagd hochgerüstet werden.
