Jubilej....
Citat:Happy birthday Spitfire!

On 5 March 1936, Supermarine 300 K5054 made its first flight from Eastleigh, flown by Captain Joseph ‘Mutt’ Summers. It was the prototype of an aircraft, designed by Reginald Mitchell that would gain fame as the Spitfire.

To commemorate this historic moment, Spitfires.com (the former Boultbee Flight Academy) of Goodwood have organized the 'Spitfire 90th anniversary UK circumnavigation'. For this purpose their two-seat Spitfire BS410 (G-TCHI, c/n 6S-200618) has received the lightblue colours and markings of prototype Supermarine 300 K5054.

Hoce da pokrenu proizvodnju nove dvosede verzije
Spitfire Revival Plan Aims to Bring Iconic Warbird Back Into Production
Citat:Supermarine Spitfire could soon return to production for the first time in nearly a century, as engineers and aviation enthusiasts unveil a modern reinterpretation of the legendary aircraft. The proposed Aerolite Spitfire Type 433 aims to revive one of Britain’s most iconic aviation symbols while making ownership significantly more accessible.
Ninety years after the original Spitfire’s maiden flight, a specialist team of designers and engineers has completed a concept model of a new two-seat version inspired by the historic fighter aircraft. The project revisits an abandoned British government plan from 1940, when wartime officials explored replacing scarce aluminium in Spitfire production with Gordon Aerolite, an innovative composite material. The newly developed aircraft reportedly cost around £750,000 to build—far below the more than £3 million typically required to purchase and restore an original wartime Spitfire.
