13. jun 1944: Engleska pivara je napravila sveže pivo za vojnike koji su se borili u Normandiji. Posude sa pivom su bile pričvršćene za dno lovaca „Spitfajer“, koji su ih nosili do bližih aerodroma. Avioni su se penjali na 3.600 metara, gde je pivo dostiglo savršenu temperaturu i aromu.

On 5 March 1936, Supermarine 300 K5054 made its first flight from Eastleigh, flown by Captain Joseph ‘Mutt’ Summers. It was the prototype of an aircraft, designed by Reginald Mitchell that would gain fame as the Spitfire.

To commemorate this historic moment, Spitfires.com (the former Boultbee Flight Academy) of Goodwood have organized the 'Spitfire 90th anniversary UK circumnavigation'. For this purpose their two-seat Spitfire BS410 (G-TCHI, c/n 6S-200618) has received the lightblue colours and markings of prototype Supermarine 300 K5054.

Belgian Spitfire RM747 restoration
Citat:The restoration project Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIVe RM747 (c/n 6S/ 432296) is said to have been sold to Belgium. This former RAF No. 350 (Belgian) Sqdn. Spit was offered by its previous owner through Platinum Fighter Sales. The machine will be restored to flying condition on Belgian soil, most likely by FAST Aero of Brasschaat.

Ninety years after the original Spitfire’s maiden flight, a specialist team of designers and engineers has completed a concept model of a new two-seat version inspired by the historic fighter aircraft. The project revisits an abandoned British government plan from 1940, when wartime officials explored replacing scarce aluminium in Spitfire production with Gordon Aerolite, an innovative composite material. The newly developed aircraft reportedly cost around £750,000 to build—far below the more than £3 million typically required to purchase and restore an original wartime Spitfire.
