Citat: On 21 August 2018, a Mi-2 of the First Aviation Brigade of the Lotnictwo Wojsk Ladowych (LWL, Polish Army Aviation) made a hard landing at Inowroclaw/Latkowo, 56.Baza Lotnicza.
The accident with the training helicopter happened around 19:00 hrs local time. Both pilots escaped uninjured but were brought to a nearby hospital for routine checks.
56.BL has two squadrons equipped with the Mi-2, 3.Eskadra Śmigłowców Szturmowych (3.ESSz) flying the Mi-2URP and Mi-2URP-G and Grupa Śmigłowców (GS) operating with the Mi-2D and Mi-2R.
The cause of the accident, as well as the fate of the helicopter, is not known yet. The Polish Armed Forces are still equipped with dozens of eldery Mi-2 Hoplites, which are to remain in service for the coming years due to the delay in the search and acquisition of a successor.
