Citat:Willi Ermann (1897-1943) was one of around 100,000 Jews who served in the Imperial German Army during WWI.

In 1938 he and his family fled to France and settled in Chatenay Malabry near Paris.

In March 1943 Willi was arrested and deported to Drancy from where he was deported to Auschwitz and soon murdered. His wife Else and his daughter Liselote soon followed being recorded as arriving at Birkenau on the 25th of June 1943, never to be heard of again. It is not known exactly how or when they perished.

Note: The yellow colour on the faustriemen is an educated guess based on the grey tones of the original. Since I believe he was from a field-artillery unit, the yellow would identify the 3. Batterie of the 3. Abtheilung (archaic spelling of Abteilung still in use during WWI).
