Obama to kill Navy’s Tomahawk, Hellfire missile programs
Citat:President Barack Obama is seeking to abolish two highly successful missile programs that experts say have helped the U.S. Navy maintain military superiority for the past several decades.
The Tomahawk missile program known as “the world’s most advanced cruise missile”—is set to be cut by $128 million under Obama’s fiscal year 2015 budget proposal and completely eliminated by fiscal year 2016, according to budget documents released by the Navy.
In addition to the monetary cuts to the program, the number of actual Tomahawk missiles acquired by the United States would drop significantly—from 196 last year to just 100 in 2015. The number will then drop to zero in 2016.
The Navy will also be forced to cancel its acquisition of the well-regarded and highly effective Hellfire missiles in 2015, according to Obama’s proposal.

Било је негде нешто сам чито још давно-да нуклеарни носачи авиона за авионе производе сво потребно гориво....

Zanimljivo. Svaka 2-3 dana (ili tako nesto) im dolazi brod cisterna i donosi im gorivo. Pod time mislim na gorivo za avione.
Brod ima nuklearni reaktor koji se napuni jednom u 25 godina. Dakle kada se brod napravi, i kada ode na 3-godisnji generalni remont. On sam proizvodi cistu vodu od morske, i elektricnu struju i mislim da je to sve sto se proizvodi. ,,Proizvode" i kuvanu hranu od namirnica koje dobiju.

То је беше била поента да се искористи нуклерана снага да бисе стварало гориво иако је тада то било не баш практично,али давало аутономију-ти електролизом можеш да издвајаш водоник и њега да користиш за гориво....

Pa to bi bilo slično onome na novima U-212, na većim brodovima bi moglo da se nagura dosta gorivnih ćelija.

Iznenađujuća, da ne kažem šokantna odluka. Hajde, nekako i mogu skontat za Hellifire, ali Tomahawk?? Ima li neko ideju ili info o tome zašto ovakva drakonska odluka? Planiraju li ih zamijeniti nečim novim ili .....? Tomahawk je ikona US Navy. Čudne odluke se donose u posljednje vrijeme u Bijeloj kući....
