Citat:All five of the UK's operational Astute-class nuclear attack submarines are currently stuck in port awaiting maintenance or repairs, while a sixth Royal Navy boat has yet to become deployment-ready.
Former naval commanders warn the situation weakens Britain's ability to deter and monitor Russian submarine activity.

Citat:The UK will replace plans for Type 83 destroyers and Type 32 frigates with at least six hybrid "common combat vessels" designed to operate aerial and underwater drones.
The move reflects a shift toward autonomous warfare, with the new ships expected to enter service in the early 2030s.

Britain to buy new mine hunting motherships from Norway
Citat:The Royal Navy is to acquire new offshore support vessels alongside Norway to serve as motherships for its growing fleet of autonomous minehunters, as part of a wider investment in mine warfare, the Defence Investment Plan said.
The plan set aside £90 million to procure, in its words, “offshore support vessels (OSVs) in conjunction with Norway,” part of a wider Mine Hunting Capability programme worth around £1.3 billion over the next four years, most of which, some £1.1 billion, is going on the next phase of the autonomous system that the UK is procuring jointly with France. It described the longer-term goal as “a transformed mine hunting capability based on uncrewed systems and AI.”

Zajednicka kupovina brodova sa Holandijom
Citat:UK and the Netherlands have signed a maritime partnership agreement to jointly procure new amphibious transport ships.
The new ships will form the backbone of a strengthened UK-Netherlands amphibious force, with the Royal Navy and the Royal Netherlands Navy operating four vessels each.
Based on a Dutch design, the ships will be built in UK shipyards alongside Dutch industry as part of a £2.4 billion deal.
At 160 metres long and 15,000 tonnes, the ships will transport troops, vehicles and equipment including drones wherever they are needed. Their flight decks will be designed to operate current and future long-range drones and autonomous systems, supporting the Royal Navy’s transition to a hybrid Navy.
