Citat:U.S. has used one-way attack sea drones to hit Iranian targets for the first time, on July 12.

According to a statement from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the OWA sea drones were used - along with aerial drones, and precision munitions from fighter aircraft and naval vessels - to strike Iranian military air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats.
OWA sea drones, also called suicide/kamikaze uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) or drone boats, are used for remote, semi-autonomous, or fully autonomous strikes against naval targets and coastal facilities. The low-cost explosive-laden platforms can be deployed in swarms to overwhelm defense systems through multi-vector engagements.

Citat:U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has released footage of its one-way attack surface drones striking a submarine and ship maintenance facility in Iran.
During the strikes conducted on July 12, three Corsair kamikaze/OWE unmanned surface vessels (USVs) hit the port at Bandar Abbas Naval Base, marking the first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations.
Saronic Corsair is a 24' Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) capable of carrying up to 1,000 lbs over 1,000 nautical miles. The vessel has a top speed of over 35 knots.

Corsair was in the news last month when it found and rescued downed Apache helicopter crew near Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman. This was the first confirmed military personnel recovery conducted by a drone boat. The USV, that conducted the mission, was assigned to the U.S. 5th Fleet’s Task Force 59, the U.S. Navy’s first Unmanned and Artificial Intelligence Task Force.
